Have you ever asked the inner you that what are you going to do when you met with crime cases or if you are the next target/victim? You might be in danger anytime, anywhere or maybe everywhere because the attackers ain't going to give you any sign that I am going to rob you or maybe rape you. So why not, Why not prepare yourself to meet those upcoming dangers? If we can't predict then we shall prepare for it.
How we prepare for it? What makes us stronger than the attackers? What makes us stronger not only from the appearance but also from the inner side of us. Learning how to fight back with courage and confident including skill is not a bad idea. Why not learn some self-defence skill to protect ourselves not only our health but also from the attacker at the same time you yourself can make you stronger and build up more confident and courage.
Martial art is cool, but mixed martial art is much cooler. Right? MMA is a Mixed Martial Arts that are fastest growing sport in the world. MMA cover disciplines from various martial arts and Olympic sports, such as boxing, kick-boxing, karate, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, tae kwon do, wrestling and judo. Knowing how to fight is necessary. Martial arts are sports, like any other, with rules, regulations, restraint and discipline. All Martial Arts are great to train but they do not teach you how to fight.
According to Victor (2011) stated that the benefits to learn MMA:
1. You will get more stamina & confidence while learning some self-defence skills.
If you are an active person and you need a lot of stamina MMA type workouts are perfect for you. You will also build a lot of confidence and this transfer to the other aspects of your life not only during the training sessions.
You will learn that MMA can do more than a workout or entertain.
You will also learn self defence skills that one day can save your life.
2. You will improve in focus, coordination, strength, cardiovascular health and endurance.
Core strengthening moves, kicking drills, and upper and lower body training create a form of high intensity interval training. In this sport, practice and perseverance is key.
You will fail many times before any success is achieved.

3. You will learn some skills that can lead you to a career.
A few professions could benefit from MMA training like: police officer, club bouncer, bodyguard, military soldier, and actors and stunt performers.
If you are an actor or “want to be” actor, learning MMA can lead you to a stunt performer career and your acting resume will look much better if you are adding some extra skills.
4. Release stress.
This type of aggressive and intensive exercise can shed stress and the negativity from your day to day life. Fighting back and kicking and punching can be very therapeutic and gives you that sense of empowerment. Within a few weeks I felt calmer and I got a whole new understanding on life.
5) Training MMA will also educate you on self-defense skills.
If the need should ever arise you will be able to defend yourself against would be attackers. Nightclub bouncers are notorious tough-guys who love to start fights and gang up on bar patrons. MMA fighter Alistair Overeem and his brother, MMA fighter Valentine Overeem, had this to say to five bouncers:
“Alistair attended some famous dance club with his brother Valentine. Went to the toilet and did not have coins to pay the toilet woman. Alistair told her he would pay a euro when he came back, because he did not have change. Then the security guard who was nearby started to get involved,” he wrote.
Brother Valentine saw the incident and also started asking what the problem was. They offered to pay, but by then 6 security guards came over surrounding them. The Overeem brothers were asked to leave, Alistair was already outside when he saw his brother Valentine fighting.
Valentine still was discussing the situation on his way outside with one of the security guards hit Valentine in the face with a flash light. Three security guards dived onto Valentine and brother Alistair wanted to go back inside to help his brother. This resulted in five security guards in the hospital.”
It’s great to have a way to protect our self but of course it must be a right way! If you don’t want to become the next victim if you don’t want to become the next target learn MMA to prevent or maybe be prepared for it.
