ALLways Safe is a personal safety campaign which aims to increase personal safety knowledge among the audiences.
We are basically focusing on 3 main pillars which are Home safety, Social safety and also Campus safety. Home, Campus and Social are the areas where students and staffs will usually spent their time with. In order to bring out the message to our audiences, we have made the 3 pillars to become one of the highlight in the exhibition booth.

The setting of the exhibition for Home, Social and Campus safety. |
The exhibition team has decided to use a story-telling method to disseminate the message so that it is easier for the audiences to understand. Besides, it would be more attractive by using images instead of words. On the board for each pillar, other than the story, different personal safety tips have also been included for different scene in order to remind the audiences on what should be aware in different area.

The story for home safety has showed a mistake where most of the people would did when they are at home. Most of the time when people leaving their house for a short period of time(Eg. To throw rubbish, talk to neighbour etc.), they usually won’t lock the door as they think that it should be fine to leave it open for that few minutes. Almost all of the audiences who visited the exhibition booth agree with that when we explained to them. According to the audience, they feel that it is troublesome for them to lock the door as they are just away for a few minutes.
However, they would not know what would be happened within that few minutes. It might cause them to be in danger later on just because of their laziness for not locking the door. Therefore, a few things that people should always be aware would be:
(i) Make sure the door always remained closed and locked,
(ii) Build a good relationship with neighbour so that there is someone to help you,
(iii) Keep an emergency contact list etc.

In the campus safety scene, we have pointed out the mistake that almost everyone is doing in their daily life. Due to the advanced technology, almost everyone owns a smart phone and we could not live without it.
The mobile devices are as important as our basic needs such as food and water. Most of the students who visited our booth especially those in group, while we are explaining the situation, they eventually pointed out that their friends did use mobile devices when they are walking or waiting at the bus station.
Focusing too much on the mobile devices would cause you to be the main target for the snatch thief as you are not aware of the surrounding just like what has been shown in the scene.
Therefore, there are few tips that people should take note when they are in campus area, for example always be aware of the surroundings, carry a personal safety product such as pepper spray, try not to stay in the college until too late etc.

The story for social safety scene was explaining about the victim went out with her friends, while she was taking picture with another girl, she did not aware that the guy has actually place the drug inside her drink which end up she is being raped by the guy.
Students who visited our booth especially the girls, agree that most of the time when they hang out with their friends, they like to take pictures, and while taking pictures, they will not aware of the surroundings. After our explanation to them, they actually realize their mistakes and promise will be more aware in the future.
There a few things that need to take note when people socializing with their friends such as never stay at a party when your friends leave, always stay in a group so that you and your friend can look after each other, always alert your parents or friends on where you are going etc.
Throughout of the day
Throughout the three days event, after explaining and talking to most of the audiences, we found that most of the students did not actually aware about personal safety in their daily life as they did most of the mistakes that mentioned above. Hopefully after they have joined our campaign, they would able to gain more knowledge on personal safety and practice it in their daily life.
Last but not least, we would like you to stay
ALLways and alWAYS Safe!
