We are thankful to SinChew Daily, Oriental
Daily and China Press for featuring our campaign. Currently, we're being
optimistic as there is a chance that Malay Mail and The Star will be covering
our campaign as well. We are looking forward for those features.
The
thoughts in the entire media relations and publicity
In this campaign, the media team has
learnt a lot regarding on dealing with the media. For instance, we have a
better understanding on the progress of the media, ways to build media
relations, media kit preparation, follow-up emails with the media and more.
This further equipped all of us with the knowledge that is needed to be a well
versed public relations practitioner.
This is thoughts from members of the
Public Relations & Publicity team on dealing with the media:
Wong Zhen Cheng :
Being part of the media team, it has indeed taught me a lot which I am thankful with. Not to mention on the ups and downs moment. When I was informed to be part of the team, the first thought that came to my mind was "what am I supposed to do?" . I was out of clue, I have no idea what am I supposed to write and include in the press releases, media kit and media invitation. Besides, I order to get Chinese and Malay media coverage, my team have came to a decision to translate the press releases, photo captions, and media kit. The task indeed drove me crazy. With the time constrained, that was the first time I told myself "how about give up?". But of course, I wasn't because I believe with the idea of ALLways Safe campaign, press release will get published and media will attend to the launching ceremony. The translation may seem easy, however it is not and I can't thank my campaign advisor enough, Ms Lim Siz Siz through all the guidance she have gave. I am thankful and I have no regrets being in part of this team. Truly it is a blessed.

Shake Ng:
I am proud to be one of the member who in charge of media relationship. Throughout the whole process, I got the chance to deal with media and the other members. I learned more about the ways to communicate and deal with media which I never experience before. Besides, I gained a lot of knowledge in preparing needed documents such as fact sheet, backgrounder, press release, speech and others. I realized that my standard in preparing media kits is far from the professional standard which motivated me to work harder for my writing skills. Moreover, I can see the power and the importance of maintaining a good relationship with media. Without having a good relationship with the media, the possibility for our news to be published will be low. Lastly, I am glad to have Wong Zhen Cheng and Liew Su San to be my media team teammates. I learned about the importance of team work while working with my teammates in media team. Although we make mistakes, we will never give up and continue contributing and putting effort to get the coverage of the media.
